Photos: Anchorage captures the world's attention as Trump meets Putin

A busy day of protests, travel and news reporting took place in Anchorage while the world watched the historic Alaska Summit

Anchorage, Alaska was the focus of global attention during the historic Alaska Summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on Aug. 15. The city witnessed several protests and a welcome gathering for President Trump. Approximately 700 journalists traveled to Anchorage from around the world to cover the event, according to Alaska Public Media.
