Sunday, April 8

North Hall party ends in 2 citations

12:52 a.m. – The resident coordinator called to report an underage party in North Hall. Four officers responded to investigate and determined that two subjects were under 21 years old and had been drinking alcohol. The officers issued the two minors issues to appear in court for minor consuming alcohol and then released them.

Backstage sounds go unexplained

11:30 a.m. – An individual called to report hearing sounds that indicated there was a person in a locked stage area thought to be vacant. An officer responded to search the area but did not come across any unusual activity.

Monday, April 9

Locker-room robber strikes again
4:51 p.m. – A student called to report that items were stolen from a locker in the men’s locker room in the Wells Fargo Sports Complex. An officer responded and is investigating.

Tuesday, April 10

Bus-stop monkeys get stern talking
7:51 p.m. – A student called to report that there were several juveniles on top of the bus-stop shelter at the Fine Arts Building. An officer responded and advised the subjects of the danger of climbing on the shelter. The subjects then left campus.

Wednesday, April 11

Dishonest dudes deliver false info
2:37 a.m. – While on patrol in the library parking lot, an officer observed two male subjects acting suspiciously. The officer contacted the men, who continually gave false information. The subjects were arrested, transported to the magistrate and remanded to the 4th Avenue Jail for providing false information. The officer also determined that one of the individuals had an outstanding felony warrant with the Anchorage Police Department.

Faulty equipment smacks student

1:34 p.m. – A student called and reported that he was struck with equipment when it fell from the ceiling in the Arts Building. An officer is responding and in investigating.

Thursday, April 12

Garage arm suffers a fatal fracture

7:34 a.m. – A staff member called to report that the parking garage gate arm had been broken off. An officer responded and is investigating.

Nighttime burglar lifts staff

9:55 a.m. – A staff member called and reported that her wallet stolen had been stolen from her office in the library the previous night. An officer responded and is investigating.

Student’s car stolen from Birch lot

1:08 p.m. – A housing student called and reported his vehicle was missing from the Birch parking lot. An officer responded and is investigating.

Friday, April 13

Student dorm room burglarized

6:22 p.m. – A resident called to report the theft of property from their dorm room. An officer responded and is investigating. Estimated loss is $500.

Saturday, April 14

Student robbed blind in the library

12:44 p.m. – A student reported that someone stole her laptop, wallet and keys from the library. An officer responded and is investigating.

Library troublemaker carted off

6:06 p.m. – A staff member at the library called to report a man viewing inappropriate material on the computers and attempting to leave the building with library property. Two officers responded and determined that the subject had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and had also previously been removed from UAA for trespassing. An officer arrested the man, transported him to the magistrate and then remanded him to the Anchorage jail on the additional charges and the warrant.
