Passed-out driver almost makes it home

4:45 a.m. – The MAC resident advisor called to report an unresponsive man inside of a vehicle parked in front of North Hall. Three officers responded along with the Anchorage Fire Department. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment by the fire department.

Parent puts a stop to vehicle lending

2:22 p.m. – The parent of a student called regarding the unauthorized use of the student’s vehicle by another student. Two officers responded and are investigating.

Monday, Feb. 19

Audio equipment lifted from parked car

2:24 p.m. – A student came to UPD reporting the theft of audio equipment from their vehicle, which was parked in the Spruce parking lot between Feb. 16 and Feb. 19. An officer responded and is investigating. Estimated loss is $100.

Computer thief targets student studier

2:38 p.m. – A student called reporting the theft of a laptop computer while at the Consortium Library. An officer responded and is investigating. Estimated loss is $1,000.

Tuesday, Feb. 20

Maintenance cleans weirdo out of ESH

1:20 a.m. – The building maintenance supervisor came to UPD to report that a suspicious person was on the second floor of the Eugene Short Hall. Three officers responded to investigate. The subject was issued a written trespass notice. He then left the building.

Science staff member’s office burglarized

9:15 a.m. – A staff member reported the theft of a personal item from his office in the Science Building. An officer responded and is investigating.

Computer left in classroom lifted by thief

10:27 a.m. – A staff member called to report the theft of a laptop computer from a classroom in the Beatrice McDonald Hall. An officer responded and is investigating.

Roomies drive woman to verge of violence

11:16 p.m. – The North Hall resident advisor called to request a welfare check on a resident due to reports of her wanting to harm herself. Two officers responded to investigate. The investigation revealed it was a roommate conflict, and Housing is handling the problem.

Wednesday, Feb. 21

Mark another one up for the laptop thieves

12:16 a.m. – A faculty member called to report the theft of a laptop computer from the Social Sciences Building. An officer responded and is investigating. Estimated loss is $1,200.

Garage holds student, demands payment

10:00 p.m. – A student called reporting that the payment machine at the parking garage was not accepting his credit card and he was unable to exit because the arms were down. An officer responded to assist the student. The credit card was accepted, and the student exited the area.


Thursday, Feb. 22

TNL member victim of auto vandalism

10:07 a.m. – A student called to report that a vehicle parked in the south sports center parking lot had a broken back window. An officer contacted the owner, James Halpin, managing editor of The Northern Light, who said that the damage was done off campus.


Saturday, Feb. 24

Ice-rink patron calls foul on false security

3:03 p.m. – A patron at the ice rink reported that a man wearing a security uniform had assaulted him. Two officers responded and are investigating.

Indecent photographer creeps out women

6:31 p.m. – A student called to report that a subject was taking photographs of women at the Student Union after being asked not to. Two officers responded and are investigating.
