Stuck in the spine

12:44 a.m. – A male called to report that he was in the spine and could not locate an exit. An officer responded and assisted him in exiting the spine.

Slip and slide equals trouble

3:49 a.m. – While on patrol, an officer observed a vehicle intentionally attempting to slide around the corner at Bragaw Street and Sharon Gagnon Lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and determined the driver could not provide proof of insurance. The driver was issued a citation and given a warning for spinning the corner.

Monday, Feb. 28

Name-caller escapes UPD

10:21 a.m. – A student came to UPD to report an individual was yelling and calling him names at the Eugene Short Hall parking lot. An officer responded but the individual had left the area.

Laptop thief strikes again?

12:40 p.m. – A student came to UPD to report the theft of a laptop computer from his vehicle parked in a lot on-campus on the night of Feb. 24. An officer is investigating. The estimated loss is $1,524.

Wednesday, March 2

Coins missing from java machine

9:57 a.m. – A staff member reported the coffee vending machine in the Sally Monserud Hall was broken into and the money box had been taken. An officer responded and is investigating. Vend Alaska was notified and responded. The estimated loss is $100.

Snowboarder goes extreme

5:30 p.m. – A Providence Hospital staff member reported she saw someone jump off the top of UAA’s parking garage. An officer responded and discovered the individual was a UAA student and was jumping with a snowboard. He was not injured. The officer gave him a verbal warning for unsafe behavior.

Sanctuary sought in Templewood

8:28 p.m. – A student reported an individual whom he did not know was refusing to leave his apartment in Templewood and was banging on the door repeatedly. Two officers responded. The student’s roommate gave permission for the individual to enter his bedroom.

Thursday, March 3

Theft from Arts Building

11:25 a.m. – A staff member reported the theft of money from the Fine Arts Building. An officer is investigating. The estimated loss is $1,860.

Friday, March 4

Which one did I drive again?

5:44 p.m. – An individual reported his vehicle had been stolen from the Consortium Library parking lot. An officer responded but the case was canceled prior to his arrival as the driver remembered he had driven his wife’s vehicle.
