Sunday, Feb. 20

BEB suffers spinal injury

12:50 p.m. A student reported a glass entry door at the Business Education Building end of the spine had been shattered while he was filming for a journalism class project. An officer determined the damage was accidental. A maintenance technician responded to correct the problem.

A berry moosey treat

7:05 p.m. A citizen requested assistance in leaving the Business Education Building as a moose was feasting on berries outside the door. An officer responded and provided safe passage from the building.

Wednesday, Feb. 23

Seawolf in sleep’s clothing

12:58 p.m. A staff member expressed concern for an individual apparently asleep in his vehicle at the West Campus Center lot. An officer responded and found the person awake. He did not require assistance.

Take it outside

5:25 p.m. Three callers reported a verbal dispute in an on-campus parking lot. Two officers responded. One individual was ultimately arrested for assault and transported to the magistrate. Another individual was arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to jail.

Suicidal thoughts in BEB

6:42 p.m. A staff member reported there was a suicidal person in a room at the Business Education Building. Two officers responded along with APD officers and transported the subject to the Providence Hospital psychiatric unit.

Skate punks seek solace from snow

8:05 p.m.  While at Providence Hospital, two officers were requested to assist Providence security enforcers as they were dealing with uncooperative skateboarders in the Providence parking garage. The units responded and advised the subjects to leave the Providence property and the subjects complied.

Friday, Feb. 25

Vague suicidal threats in housing

3:12 a.m. A housing resident advisor called on behalf of a resident that was upset and making vague suicidal threats. Two officers responded to investigate. The subject voluntarily agreed to seek assistance at the Alaska Native Medical Center. The subject was transported to the hospital and left under the care of staff.

Saturday, Feb. 26

There’s gonna be a floody floody

8:34 a.m. A housing student’s parent called to report an East Hall room was flooded. The resident advisor was contacted and reported rooms 420, 320, 220 and 120 were flooded as well. UAA maintenance responded along with custodians. Notification was given to the housing manager.
