Pool patron upset by scheduling conflict
4:20 p.m.- A staff member called from the Sports Complex to report a patron had become verbally irate over a scheduling conflict at the pool and was threatening employees. Two officers responded and told the subject as he was leaving that further incidents of this nature would result in trespassing from university property. The individual left without further incident.
Police requested to investigate suspicious people smoking in a parking lot
7:55 p.m.- The resident coordinator called to report four suspicious subjects smoking in a parking lot who had previously been in the West Hall acting suspiciously. Two officers responded and checked the hall and lots but the subjects were gone.
Marijuana smell triggers police inquiry
11:47 p.m. – The North Hall resident advisor reported the odor of marijuana coming from the hall. An officer responded but all subjects denied smoking and no paraphernalia were in sight.
Monday, Feb 14.
Laptop stolen on campus
7:00 p.m. – A UAA staff member reported someone had stolen his laptop from his room about 10 minutes before the call. An officer responded and is investigating. The estimated value is $1,800.
Wednesday, Feb. 16
Irate student arrested for disorderly conduct
9:48 a.m. – A Parking Services employee requested an officer respond to an irate student near the facility maintenance gas pumps. Three officers responded and arrested the student for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The student was remanded to the Anchorage Jail following a magistrate hearing.
Yelling leads to discovery of underage drinkers
10:00 p.m. – A housing resident coordinator reported hearing a fight and yelling inside a West Hall room. Three officers responded and found two subjects to be in violation of a minor consuming alcohol and were issued summons to appear. They were released to a sober relative.
Friday, Feb. 18
Campus party busted for underage drinking
10:40 p.m. – The Main Apartment Complex resident advisor reported having observed a party involving alcohol in a MAC room. Three officers responded and determined that three subjects were under the age of 21 and had been consuming alcohol. The officer issued summons to appear for the offenses and issued five notices of trespass.
Saturday, Feb. 19
Bike tricks aren’t allowed on campus
6:07 p.m. – A faculty member reported 10 juveniles were doing tricks on bicycles outside the Administration/Humanities Building. Two officers responded, told the subjects about UAA policy and asked them to leave the campus.
Bike tricks aren’t allowed at Providence Hospital either
7:32 p.m. – While on patrol at Providence Drive, two officers observed multiple juveniles doing tricks on bicycles in the area of Providence Hospital’s bus stop. The officers told the juveniles, who they had contacted earlier, to leave the property or face arrest. The subjects complied.
