Weed in the Williamson

11:04 p.m. – A staff member came to UPD with a found item with a substance was inside. The officer determined the substance was in fact marijuana. The officer is investigating.

Monday, Oct. 18

Expensive poster disappears

12:10 p.m. – An officer responded to a theft report for a framed poster from the Nursing Wing hallway of West Hall. The hall coordinator estimated the loss at $50.

Reckless bikers harass library

7:53 p.m. – A staff member reported several individuals bicycling recklessly near the main library doors. An officer contacted the subjects and advised them of UAA’s policy concerning bicycling on campus.

Tuesday, Oct. 19

You can tint but you can’t hide

12:01 p.m. – While on patrol on Alumni Loop, an officer observed a vehicle with excessively tinted windows. The officer verified the tint with a tint meter and issued the driver a citation.

Dude, where’s my car?

8:41 p.m. –
A UAA faculty member called and stated either his vehicle had been stolen or he had failed to remember where it had been parked. An officer responded and located the vehicle.

Wednesday, Oct. 20

Psychotic caught in woods

2:50 a.m. – The Anchorage Police Department advised that a psychotic patient had walked away from the Providence Hospital and was a danger to himself and others. The subject was found by a UPD officer in the area moving as he moved into the woods. The officer and APD tracked the subject, located him and took him into custody. The resident hall desks were notified.

Thursday, Oct. 21

Hit the road, jack

A staff member reported there was a suspicious male in the Diplomacy Building. An officer responded and contacted the subject on the 5th floor stairwell. The officer advised the man that he was on the trespass list and therefore could not be in the Diplomacy Building as it is on UAA property. The man left the building and agreed not to return.

Friday, Oct. 22

Good barbeque was at steak

5:47 p.m. – A student reported two male subjects in a vehicle attempting to take the barbecue from the area in front of West Hall but were stopped by the caller and left the area.
