Fall fisherman lets dogs loose
2:12 a.m. – A housing resident reported a male subject fishing in Chester Creek with two loose dogs that seemed aggressive when they walked by. Two officers contacted the subject and trespassed him from campus.
Bums duke it out behind North
10:28 p.m. – A North Hall resident advisor reported there were possibly two homeless people fighting behind the hall. Officers responded and determined the subjects were intoxicated and transported them to the Alaska Native Medical Center for medical clearance.
Tuesday, Oct. 12
Stolen parking pass found
11:30 a.m. – Someone called to request an officer report to the East Campus Central Lot regarding a parking pass that had been reported lost. The pass was displayed on a vehicle that was not listed as an authorized vehicle for the pass. An officer responded and is investigating. The defendant was contacted by the officer, issued a summons to court for theft of lost or mislaid property and released on his own recognizance.
Dog taken to emergency hospital
10:33 p.m. – An officer requested an ambulance and Anchorage Police Department response to Crescent Street and Locardo Street regarding a vehicle that had hit a pedestrian. The officer provided a courtesy transport for one victim and a dog to the Pet Emergency Hospital on Fairbanks Street. An officer provided traffic control for APD as well.
Wednesday, Oct. 13
Student makes suicidal threats
2:31 a.m. – A housing resident coordinator requested an officer to check on the welfare of a student who was making suicidal threats. Two officers responded. The subject was not at the location. He/she had called from an off campus location and it could not be determined where he/she had called from.
False marijuana odor stinks up West Hall
10:50 p.m. – The West Hall resident coordinator reported there was a marijuana odor on the third floor. Two officers investigated and determined the subjects were not in possession of marijuana. Tobacco was confiscated. A check of the subjects showed one subject had two warrants. The suspect was arrested and booked at the 4th Avenue Jail.
Thursday, Oct. 14
3:04 a.m. – While on patrol in the Willow Lot, an officer observed a vehicle pull in with two women occupants. The officer approached the vehicle to warn them of a possible assault suspect in the area and saw that the driver had an open container between his legs. The driver failed to pass the sobriety test and was placed under arrest. The driver was then transported to UPD for a breathalyzer test and to the magistrate where he was remanded at the 4th Avenue Jail. The driver was also cited for having an open container.
Saturday, Oct. 16
Bike stolen in garage
10:14 p.m. – A student came to UPD to report his bike was stolen from the parking garage bike rack. An officer took the report and is investigating. The estimated loss is $2,000.
