Oct. 11 Bootylicious

11:45 a.m Parking services called the University Police Department and requested assistance with two vehicles that were booted because they had improper handicap tags. The tags were confiscated, and the drivers were issued citations.

11:50 a.m. A University of Alaska Anchorage student called to report that someone had broken into his room through a window and stole his computer, zip drive and phone. An officer is responding, the loss is estimated at $1442.


Oct. 12 Whoops, wrong country

1:10 a.m. While on patrol in housing an officer observed a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road. The driver was issued a citation for the infraction.s

6:17 p.m. A library staff member contacted UPD about a beeping sound coming from a locked room. An officer responded and determined that the cause was a humidity alarm inside the room.


Oct. 13 Shred it up

4:31 p.m. UPD was contacted about snowboarders creating a disturbance by flipping over tables to make ramps and being noisy. An officer responded, and the subjects left campus.

Oct. 14 The meter is running

4:13 a.m. UPD was advised of an altercation in progress between a cab driver and his fare in the Templewood lot. Two officers responded and separated the individuals.


Oct. 15 Fixer-upper

12:15 p.m. An individual contacted UPD sabout an unoccupied vehicle with an open door and window. An officer determined that the vehicle wasn't stolen, it was just beat up a little and both doors didn't close.

Oct.16 Who steals from the library?

10:06 a.m. A staff member reported a suspicious package in the mail room at shipping and receiving. Two officers responded and secured the area and the package. The package was taken for processing by Anchorage Police Department.

3:50 p.m. A caller requested an officer respond to the library after someone grabbed some books and walked out.


Oct. 17 Kiddie pool antics

6:45 a.m. A UAA staff member called UPD about a male subject observed acting in an unacceptable manner in the pool area.

6:12 p.m. A housing staff member called to report that students were throwing snowballs at vehicles on Sharon Gagnon Lane. The culprits were gone when officers responded.
