UAA women add Washington JC standout to backcourt

The UAA women’s basketball team solidified its backcourt even further Monday when Head Coach Tim Moser announced that Kaitlin McBride, of Bothell, Wash., has signed a scholarship agreement to play for the Seawolves.

The 5’9” guard played her sophomore season at Yakima Valley (Wash.) Community College in 2008-09, where she helped the Yaks to an unbeaten (14-0) league record and the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges East Region title. YVCC finished 25-7 overall as McBride averaged 9.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game. McBride was a Second-Team All-NWAACC pick during both the regular season and the postseason tournament. In the NWAACC East-West All-Star Game in March, she helped her squad to an 82-63 victory with team-highs of 14 points and six assists, plus seven rebounds.

McBride played her freshman season at Great Northwest Athletic Conference rival Western Washington, averaging 2.7 ppg, 1.3 rpg and 1.2 apg, while logging 11 starts.
