Things are heating up from Anaheim as the #13 UAA Seawolves and #11 UC-San Diego Tritons are battling it out at the 2010 Disney West Coast Tip-Off Classic.
In a early season game that has significant West Region playoff indications, UAA holds a slight 31-25 lead at halftime.
UAA and UCSD are both looking to gain the upper-hand on one another in the West rankings.
The story so far has been the ability for the ‘Wolves to get rebounds. The margin right now is a jaw-dropping 30-10 in favor of UAA and has led to many second chance points for the Seawolves.
Senior guard Nikki Aden leads the way for UAA with seven points and has chipped in with five boards. Junior forward Hanna Johansson and senior guard Kaitlin McBride both come into halftime with five points apiece.
Newcomer Kaylie Robison, a junior forward, has looked good in her UAA debut. She has been a force down low and has grabbed five boards and put in four points.
On the Triton’s side, junior guard Daisy Feder leads all scores with nine points, all of which came from three point land.
The ‘Wolves have done well to keep junior guard Chelsie Carlisle in check with only five points thus far. Carlisle was a 2010 All-CCAA First Team selection and is said to be one of the top players in the West.
