UAA is riding a game high 10 points from senior guard Brandon Walker in route to a 28-24 halftime lead over UC-San Diego.
For a third straight game, the Seawolves came out hot shooting and find themselves up at the break. This time, the lead come against the 2-0 Tritons, a West Region rival of the ‘Wolves.
Walker got the bulk of his points early in the half going 4 of 5 from the field. UAA has also seen seven points from freshman guard Travis Thompson off the bench.
Junior Taylor Rohde also has six points for the green and gold at the break.
For the Tritons, freshman guard James McCann leads the UCSD attack with eight points.
For the most part, the teams are very even on statistical categories. UCSD holds a slight edge in the rebounding department (14-13) while UAA holds a small advantage in shooting percentage (47.6% to UCSD’s 36.0%) and bench scoring (7-4).
