May 31

12:55 p.m. A UPD officer on patrol on Sharon Gagnon Lane observed a vehicle with two different plates. The officer determined that one of the plates was invalid and arrested the driver who was issued a citation and released.

3:14 p.m. Skateboarders on the north side of the Arts Building were observed and UPD was contacted. An officer responded and contacted three youths driving and allowed them to leave campus.

 

June 1

11:22 a.m. UPD was radioed about a cow and calf moose on the bike trail by West Hall. An officer responded and observed the moose until they left the area.

 

June 2

3:47 p.m. An officer patrolling the housing Commons noticed a light fixture that had dropped from the ceiling. The officer called maintenance to fix the problem.

 

June 4

4:34 p.m. Three moose were reported on the north side of the Administration Building, 1 female and 2 calves. An officer responded but the moose were gone when on arrival.

 

June 5

2:05 a.m. Following a traffic stop for speeding, UPD determined the driver was driving while his license was revoked. The perpetrator was arrested for the offense and transported to the 6th Ave. Correctional Facility.

12:06 p.m. UPD was contacted to deliver an emergency message to a student regarding a worried parent. The officer responded and provided the service.

 

June 6

10:44 a.m. The father of a conference student called UPD and reported his son was not answering the phone. An officer went to student housing to provide a welfare check and found the student was not home and his vehicle was gone. The caller was notified and will check with other friends to locate his son.

 

June 8

1:21 p.m. UPD was called about an intoxicated male trying to ride a motorcycle on Alumni Drive at Providence Drive. Two officers responded and checked the area finding that the subject was gone.

5:59 p.m. A housing adviser reported a trashcan outside the Commons front entrance smoldering. An officer responded and extinguished the small fire caused from a lit cigarette.

 

June 11

2:07 a.m. Anchorage Police Department dispatch advised UPD that they received a report of 4 runaway juveniles from a Florina St. address in route to University Lake. Three UPD officers searched the area but did not locate the juveniles. APD was advised of the search results.

5:35 p.m. APD called UPD and advised of a 6 year-old child left in a vehicle in West lot. An officer responded and advised the parent to take the child in at all times.

10:17 p.m. UPD received a call from the emergency phone on the North housing bike path. An officer responded but the caller was gone. There were about 200 juveniles in the area and the officer determined that the situation was stable.
