March 15

8:00 a.m. A moose was reported at the southwest entrance of the sports center. A UPD officer responded and observed two moose that he monitored until they left the area.

6:09 p.m. A student walked into UPD and reported two moose in the area of the Engineering building and UAA drive. When an officer responded the moose were not found.

7:48 p.m. A UAA staff member contacted UPD to report skateboarders on the south side of the Administration building. Two officers responded and advised the skaters of UAA policy of skateboarding on campus.


March 16

2:29 a.m. UPD was called about a loud party on the fourth floor of West Hall. A UPD sergeant and two officers responded to investigate along with a resident advisor. Multiple minors were cited to have been consuming alcoholic beverages.

1:08 p.m. A female reported to UPD that her vehicle was stolen from the Birch lot. UPD responded and found that the owner, her grandmother, was using the vehicle.

1:45 p.m. A lady notified UPD that she had slipped on the ice in the North Administration lot, fell, and hit her back on her truck. An officer responded and took the report but the caller refused medical assistance.


March 17

3:56 p.m. UPD was informed a vending machine in the lobby of the CAS building was open. Two officers responded and conducted an investigation. Two machines were found damaged with an estimated total of $20.


March 18

8:15 a.m. Two moose were reported in the area near the bookstore. A UPD officer responded but only observed one moose in the area. He monitored the moose until it was no longer a threat.

2:52 p.m. It was reported that a UAA student walked into a doorway in Business Education Building. An officer responded, the student was conscious and alert, and no medics were needed.


March 19

8:24 p.m. A moose on the housing bike trail was reported and gone on an officer's arrival.

10:00 p.m. The North Hall Coordinator tattled to UPD about a chronic smell of marijuana on the second floor. Two officers responded but were unable to locate the source.


March 20

5:38 a.m. UPD was advised about a moose on the trail between Providence Hospital and the dorms. Two officered monitored the moose until it moved away from the trail.

1:03 p.m. A CTO dispatcher contacted UPD regarding a report of a moose in the Northeast Library lot. A UPD sergeant responded but the moose was in the woods and not a threat.

6:54 p.m. UPD was contacted from an emergency phone about two moose on the pike path from housing to Providence Drive. An officer responded and maneuvered the moose into the wooded area to the east.

8:05 p.m. A UAA student contacted UPD to report a moose out side the main door at North Hall. The moose was gone when an officer arrived.

8:14 p.m. A UAA student contacted UPD, via emergency phone to report three moose on the bike path from UAA housing to Providence Drive. An UPD sergeant responded and maneuvered the moose into the wooded area to the east.


March 21

12:43 p.m. Anchorage Police Department requested assistance with a DWI suspect at the Diplomacy Building. UPD chief, a sergeant, and a couple other officers responded. The suspect was taken into custody without further assistance.

2:03 p.m. A UAA student was reported in seizure in room 209 of the BEB building. An officer and medics were dispatched and responded. UPD chief accompanied by a sergeant and another officer also responded. The victim was alert and refused medical assistance, so the medic dispatch was cancelled.
