Sunday, October 12
Gunshots fired in woods behind housing
6:59 a.m.- While on patrol, officers heard what sounded like gun shots from the area of 40th and Dale. Investigation revealed the sound of gunfire was coming from the wooded area behind Mac 3 student housing. Further investigation revealed no suspect in the wooded area.

Stranger makes way onto campus
9:50 p.m.- While performing a security check on a UAA building, Officer Morgan contacted a suspicious person is one of the back offices. His investigation revealed that the person was not a UAA student or employee and should not have been in the office. The subject was issued a notice of trespass from UAA and escorted out of the building.

Monday, October 13
Probation violator caught fleeing from officers
3:12 p.m.- Officer saw person running from him in Spruce lot. Another officer contacted that person, and investigation revealed he had been consuming alcoholic beverages and he was on felony probation, with one of the conditions not to be consuming alcohol. The person was issued a summons for Minors Consuming Alcohol and adult probations were contacted.

Wednesday, October 15
Mental subject transported off campus
8:34 a.m.- Lt. Shell was dispatched to the Aviation Center, in reference to a mental subject. The subject was not a threat to herself or others. She was transported to Beans Café, at her request.

Moose collides with oncoming vehicle
8:10 p.m.- APD called UPD about handling a vehicle vs. moose accident at the intersection of Piper and Providence. Lt. Munn responded to the report.

Thursday, October 16
Homecoming leads to inappropriate misconduct
3:44 p.m.- A female came to UPD and reported that she was touched inappropriately while at the Alaska Native Heritage Center during the university sponsored homecoming dance.

Someone still hasn’t read TNL articles about theft prevention
6:45 p.m.- A person came to the University Police Department and reported her bike stolen on 10/05/2008. An officer took the report.

Suspect flees scene after hit and run, leaving pedestrian injured
10:10 p.m.- Officers responded to Sharon Gagnon Lane for report of a hit and run accident, vehicle versus pedestrian. Investigation revealed a suspect was driving with a revoked license, driving under the influence, left the scene of an injury accident and failed to render aide. A warrant for the suspect’s arrest was obtained.

Friday, October 17
Vehicle break-in results in theft in University Center lot
4:29 p.m.- UPD received a call of a vehicle break in and theft from the University Center South parking lot. Officer Morgan responded and is currently investigating.

Suspicious activity detected in east lot
11:25 p.m.- While in the East lot, Officer Morgan contacted subjects with vehicle taking part in suspicious activity.
