November 19, 2002: UA education worth more for students

The 10 percent adds up to a couple hundred dollars for each student. Factor in already overpriced textbooks, student fees and additional charges for graduation applications and transcript requests to name a few, and it gets expensive.

 

November 12, 2002: Republicans taking over U.S. Congress

There needs be compromise on both sides and not a unilateral decision throughout the process. Both Democrats and Republicans should forgo their extremes to settle for the moderate, which the majority can identify with. The middle of the road, is where most people place themselves politically.

 

November 05, 2002: UAA students need louder voice statewide

This past week the student body president of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Derek Miller, was named student regent. The position is the only student seat on the UA Board of Regents, the governing body of the university. The board decides issues such as budget allocation, regulations and tuition increases….
