Monday, July 7
Graffiti discovered at Commons
3:11 p.m. ---- Sometime between the 6th and 7th of July, someone vandalized the concrete wall at the Commons' loading dock. The paint was photographed, and maintenance was notified to remove it. APD is also watching the growing graffiti problem in the bike tunnel at Sharon Gagnon and Elmore.
Wednesday, July 9
"Medicinal" marijuana found on patrol
9:44 p.m. -- An officer found a prescription bottle that had a small amount of marijuana inside; the drug was destroyed.
Saturday, July 12
Hooded man loitering in woods
6:02 p.m. -- An APU student reported a suspicious person lingering in the wooded area between the Consortium Library and APU. Officers responded, and the man was trespassed from APU, as he previously had been trespassed from UAA property.
Sunday, July 20
Fake tags, revoked license ends up with arrest
6:31 a.m. ---- An officer ran a vehicle's registration, which determined its October 2008 tags actually expired in April. The driver also had an Alaskan license that had been revoked, and that he was aware of it. The driver was arrested, and given "several" verbal warnings.
Tuesday, July 22
More bad drivers plague UAA
12:29 a.m. -- While patrolling, the aforementioned officer observed yet another vehicle with an expired registration. When he attempted to pull the driver over, the car made a run for it, almost rolled on its sign and finally stopped when he almost hit some trees. The driver fled, and his identity was given by his passenger. The driver had an arrest warrant out, issued by the state of Washington, for vehicular homicide. His Washington license was revoked in the first degree. He was charged with: failing to stop at direction of a police officer, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and driving while license revoked.
Wandering thief in UAA parking lots
4:36 p.m. -- A person called in a suspicious male who was wandering aimlessly in the south parking lot, scoping out cars. When he entered the sports center, three officers responded. The suspect had previous theft issues at UAA and was trespassed from entering UAA property.
