The 2006-2007 season will go down as one of the greatest in the history of UAA women's basketball. Winning 23 games (one short of the school record), finishing second in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (their highest finish since joining in 2001), and winning an NCAA Tournament game for only the third time are the major highlights.
A new sport has moved in and is making a name for itself in a small, but growing community here in south-central Alaska. It doesn't require gasoline, waiting in annoying lift lines or contemplating avalanche danger. With a little wind, some desire, and a steady flow of adrenaline, kiteboarding has blown its way into Alaska.
