I attended the opening ceremony of the Consortium Library and listened to many speakers praise the future potential of the facility. Maybe I missed the other consortium part of the team, the Alaska Pacific University dignitaries. Many resources in the library came from the old Alaska Methodist University campus and the property was purchased from AMU.
It would have been nice to hear of their involvement and their campus plans for the Consortium Library. Naming the building after a recent UAA chancellor seems like a nice gesture and the name does flow smoother but I think something even better could be a contest with the best suggestion agreed upon by both the UAA and APU administrations.
