Seawolves sweep SpringHill Suites Invitational tournament

The Seawolf volleyball team won its first tournament of the season Saturday night by defeating Western New Mexico University in the SpringHill Suites Invitational. The win was settled in three sets with the scores 25-20, 25-21, 25-16.

The women’s basketball team is getting hot at the right time of year. The Seawolf hoopers (15-8 in Division II play) have rattled off six straight wins and ranked ninth in the NCAA Div. II West Region Women’s Basketball Rankings.

Eagles stop Seawolves in their tracks at Elite Eight

The UAA Women’s Basketball team was stopped just short of it’s ultimate goal as they fell 71-51 at the hands of the 2nd ranked Ashland Eagles in the NCAA Division II tournament in San Antonio on March 20. Despite being down by 32-23 at the halftime break, the Seawolves rallied in the second half of the game to get back within three points before Ashland (32-1) went on a 19-2 run midway through the frame to extinguish the Seawolves national title hopes.

Seawolves defend top spot against Vikings

The Seawolf Women’s Basketball team extended its lead in Great Northwest Athletic Conference standings over the Western Washington Vikings with their 72-50 win over WWU on Feb. 9 at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex. This win kept the Vikings from trying to unseat the Seawolves from their No. 1 spot in the GNAC within the next couple of games and all but locked up the regular season GNAC title for the Seawolves.
