Sunday, Nov. 2 Mental patient runs loose on campus 9:49 p.m. - UPD received a call of a person walking in the middle of the road on Providence Drive. The subject was apprehended near UAA Drive and Mallard Lane. An investigation determined that the subject was in need of services, and he was transported to Providence Hospital Psychiatric Emergency Department.
Sunday, October 26 Sunday: a day for a rest or a day for drinking? 2:54 a.m. - While on patrol Officer Frierson observed a vehicle run the stop sign at Elmore and Providence Drive. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was determined to be driving under the influence.
Wednesday, October 22 Student doesn't read TNL articles on theft and must report stolen item 8:26 p.m.- A student called UPD to report that an item he had reported lost on Oct. 20 has not been found and he now wants it listed as stolen. Lt. Munn spoke with the student and took the report.
Sunday, October 12 Gunshots fired in woods behind housing 6:59 a.m.- While on patrol, officers heard what sounded like gun shots from the area of 40th and Dale. Investigation revealed the sound of gunfire was coming from the wooded area behind Mac 3 student housing.
Sunday, September 28 Illegal turn reveals drunken minor 6:18 a.m. -- An officer witnessed a vehicle making an illegal U-turn on Elmore. One of the passengers was discovered to be in violation of Minor Consuming Alcohol, and the driver was issued a DUI and arrested.
Sunday, September 14 Student gets early start 8:47 a.m. -- An underage female resident of East Hall was discovered intoxicated. She admitted to drinking, and was cited with a Minor Consuming Alcohol with a court date of October. Another bike theft hits UAA 2:56 p.
Monday, September 8 Failed stop, DUI charged 12:07 a.m. -- A car failed to stop at a stop sign on Elmore Road. The officer discovered the driver was driving under the influence of drugs, and was promptly arrested, processed, transferred to the magistrate and then to the Anchorage jail.
Monday, July 7 Graffiti discovered at Commons 3:11 p.m. ---- Sometime between the 6th and 7th of July, someone vandalized the concrete wall at the Commons' loading dock. The paint was photographed, and maintenance was notified to remove it. APD is also watching the growing graffiti problem in the bike tunnel at Sharon Gagnon and Elmore.
Sunday, June 15 Drunk students caught 3:51 a.m. -- While on patrol in the housing area, an officer observed a vehicle that was broken down and in the middle of the lot near Commons and the Mac-6. Two of the passengers in the car were drinking alcohol, and were under 21.
Monday, May 19 Dust cloud triggers alarm 1:06 p.m. - A smoke alarm activated at the Auto/Diesel Building. At the same time, a construction contractor called to say that the alarm was probably due to a large amount of dust they had created. The Anchorage Fire Department was notified, and the alarm was canceled.
Sunday, May 4 MAC residents try to cover damage 9:38 p.m. - A housing staff member alerted UPD that some residents of MAC 4 were throwing things off the back stairwell. An officer responded, and it was determined that the residents had destroyed university property and were trying to dispose of the remnants by throwing them into the creek.
Sunday, April 6 UPD orders snow removal 7:53 a.m. -- UPD noticed that there was an accumulation of snow that needed to be removed for safety. The maintenance staff was contacted to conduct groundskeeping. Car slides on icy roads 11:39 a.m. -- A driver's car slid off UAA Drive and hit a tree.
Sunday, March 30 Student pukes in lot 12:53 a.m. -- While patrolling, an officer noticed an individual leaning out of a car and vomiting. The car experienced a mechanical failure as the driver and their passenger were being checked out. The car was left in the service lot in housing overnight.
Sunday, March 23 UPD finds screaming drunk 1:19 a.m. -- While patrolling near Providence Drive, an officer heard a male subject screaming. Two more officers responded, and it was determined that the male was an underage minor who had been consuming alcohol.
Monday, March 17 UPD shuts down violence 7:39 p.m. - An RA called to report a housing resident who had shoved an RA and another resident. UPD simultaneously received another call from the East Hall front desk attendant reporting a suicide attempt, which was related to the first call.
Monday, March 10 Tricky skateboarders flee 5:02 p.m. --?A person called to report that there were four people skateboarding and performing tricks near the south entrance of the library. An officer arrived to investigate, and the subjects left the area. Tuesday, March 11 Drunk person pounds doors 3:28 a.
Sunday, Feb. 17 Building gets chilly 12:47 p.m. -- A faculty member notified UPD that the temperature in the engineering building was exceedingly cold. The maintenance staff was informed, and they responded to correct the problem. Wandering woman in LRC 6:12 p.
Sunday, Feb. 10 Vehicle lacks tags, insurance 11:12 p.m. -- While on patrol at the Aviation Center, an officer came across a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. The driver had no proof of insurance, and had expired registration tags. The driver was issued citations for the two offenses.
Monday, Feb. 4 Student followed by unknown stalker 2:33 p.m. -- A student reported that they had been followed by an unknown individual on several recent occasions. They gave a description of the suspect, and the student will notify officers if the suspect is observed again on campus.
Sunday, Jan. 27 Drug paraphernalia confiscated 12:36 a.m. -- APD responded to a 911 disconnect from a housing unit in MAC 5. Officers responded and discovered that the caller had drug paraphernalia in their possession, which was promptly confiscated. Housing will handle the situation.
Sunday, Jan. 20 Non-student at Commons had a few too many drinks 7:45 p.m. -- The Commons desk attendant called UPD to report an intoxicated male lying down and moaning at the rear of the building. Officers responded to perform a welfare check; they determined that the subject was all right and not a UAA student.
Sunday, Jan. 13 Busted lock eats student's keys 12:12 p.m. ---- A student requested UPD assistance with entering the Science Building, as their keys were stuck in the door lock. An officer responded to aide the student, and a message was left with building maintenance.
Sunday, Jan. 6 Phantom calls police 3:23 p.m. - An elevator phone in the Social Sciences building rang campus police, but no one was on the line. An officer responded and confirmed there was no one in the vicinity. The phone called UPD several more times, and the IT services department was notified.
Sunday, Nov. 11 Downed tree blocks cars 12:35 a.m. - The Commons attendant reported that a tree had fallen down behind the building and was blocking in conferencing vehicles. A maintenance technician was notified and responded to correct the problem. Snowballers evade police 7:57 p.

Sunday, Oct. 28 Mystery shouters disappear 2:21 a.m. - UPD received a call from a student in residential housing reporting a noisy disturbance between two people. Police responded to the incident, but the two shouters seemed to have disappeared by the time they had arrived.
Sunday, Oct. 21 Rock thrower hits window 12:53 a.m. - A resident reported that a person was throwing rocks at their window at student housing. Three officers responded. Investigation determined it was all just a "misunderstanding and housing will handle." RA called about toilet 1:35 a.
