Bucs and Pilots spilt doubleheader wins

Come celebrate 30 years!

July 4 is a day America celebrates its independence. Many people around the country take part in this celebration by having cookouts, setting off fireworks, or for some in the Anchorage area, taking part in the annual Fourth of July double header baseball game between the Anchorage Bucs and the Anchorage Glacier Pilots.

Game one of the double header the Pilots defeated the Bucs by a score of 5 to 0. The Pilots drove in four runs in the top of the seventh. Max Karnos, from Anchorage, pitched a complete game of seven innings, allowing only six hits and no runs.

The second game the Bucs defeated the Pilots 4 to 3. The Bucs led to victory by a dominant outing by their pitcher Trevor Lacosse. Lacosse’s dominant 10 strikeouts were capped off by two earned runs on four hits and one walk over six innings. Gage West went 2-2 and singled in the fifth innings and homered in the seventh inning.
