Sixty students, faculty, administrators, family members, and friends attended the 30th Annual Student Showcase academic conference and competition Awards Luncheon on Saturday, April 12. The competition was held April 10-11th and gave students representing a range of disciplines from Anthropology to Public Administration an opportunity to present their best class work from courses taken in 2013.
Submissions were pre-screened by faculty, well the presentations were judged by a panel of members from the Anchorage community. Five of the community panelists were UAA alums and one was a past Showcase participant.
The 2014 UAA Student Showcase Committee consisted of Faculty members Dr. Grant Cochran, Music; Dr. Elizabeth Dennison, History; Dr. Kamal Narang, Mathematics and Statistics; and Dr. Clay Nunnally, English. As well as UAA staff members Ms. Daphne Brashear and Ms. Annie Route from Student Life and Leadership.
Professor Clay Nunnally, English, gave congratulatory remarks for the award ceremony. Nunnally has been a Showcase committee member for over 12 years and will be retiring from UAA in 2015 after serving as faculty member since 1970.
